It has a history of more than 7,000 years of civilization, 3,100 years of city building, and 1,100 years of capital building, with 13 dynasties, including Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang, establishing their capitals here. Recognized by UNESCO as a “World Heritage City”, Xi’an has 6 World Cultural Heritage sites, 3,246 immovable cultural relic sites, 428 key heritage sites under protection at all levels, and 159 museums of various kinds, making it a “natural history museum”.
